Mansoura National University opens a branch of IEEE “Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers” to support innovation and creativity for students.
Within the efforts of Mansoura National University, which aims to strengthen the practical relations that link it with various international institutions, on February 25, 2024, a branch of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in the United States was inaugurated and opened at the university under the patronage of Prof. El-Sayed Abdel Khalek, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater - President of Mansoura National University, and in the presence of Prof. Moawad El-Khouly, President of New Mansoura University, Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Azim - Vice President of Mansoura University for Community Service and Environmental Development and Engineering Consultant to the President of the University, Prof. Sherif Badawy, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Mansoura University, Prof. Wael Siddik, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, New Mansoura University, Prof. Ahmed Madin, President of the IEEE branch in Egypt, and the supervision and organization of Assoc.Prof. Ehab Abdel Hay - Director of the Faculty of Engineering Programs, supervisor of the IEEE MNU SB branch at the university, and conference rapporteur, in the presence of the deans of faculties and program directors at Mansoura National University.
Prof. Cherif Youssef Khater said that Mansoura National University is a proof for achieving the goals of the political leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to establish 4th generation national universities to provide scientific programs that are compatible with international educational systems and qualify graduates for the labor market locally and internationally, in addition to attracting international students to study in Egypt.
He added that this event is a continuation of the efforts of Mansoura National University and its constant endeavor to support innovation and entrepreneurship in modern technological sectors at the regional and global levels, and the keenness of the National University administration to enhance the skills of its students in the field of technology, scientific research, and entrepreneurship, and to develop their technical skills in engineering and medical fields.
Prof. Mohamed Abdel Azim reviewed the stages of establishing national universities, and the achievements that were made in equipping Mansoura National University despite the challenges during implementation, but with the determination and insistence of Mansoura University, the entity of Mansoura National University has become providing its educational and training services to our students in various educational specializations that work to provide distinctive job opportunities. He added that Mansoura National University has advanced laboratories with the latest equipment, provided with all requirements, social care, and university dormitories at the highest level. He also praised the efforts of the faculty deans, program directors, and the administrative staff.
Prof. Ahmed Madin explained that the (IEEE) is a professional institution in technical sciences and engineering whose membership includes more than 365,000 members distributed in more than 150 countries around the world. He added that the event will address many meetings and seminars, which aims to raise their skills. The event provides an opportunity for students to expand their social networks and communicate with professionals and experts in these fields, which helps them acquire knowledge and experiences that can contribute to their professional success and achieve their future ambitions.
Assoc.Prof. Ihab Abdel Hay indicated that the Faculty of Engineering always aims to pay attention to the intellectual and cognitive progress of students in all fields such as technology, and innovation He added that the opening of the IEEE branch at Mansoura National University represents an addition towards excellence and technology, aiming to enhance cooperation and shaping the future of technology in Egypt.
